Kevin O’Leary Celebrates Trump Win, Says Democrats Owe Him A ‘Thank You’

Kevin O’Leary celebrated Donald Trump’s victory on Fox News last night, saying the Democrats owe him a “thank you very much.”
After being asked by Fox News’ Ben Baier what the U.S. markets would do following a Trump victory, the Shark Tank investor said, “What’s happened here is the system self-corrected. When you try to break the American model, it fixes itself, and I think people should give credit, within the Democratic party, Donald Trump saved them tonight too.”
He continued, “When it gets too crazy, it fixes itself. Whether you love Trump or you hate him, every Democrat owes him a thank you very much, Mr. President!”
Trump was declared the winner of the election early on Wednesday morning after winning Wisconsin, which tipped him over the 270 electoral college votes necessary to win.
During the discussion, O’Leary shared his opinion that Trump’s economics policies would “save” multiple aspects of the U.S. economic markets, including entrepreneurship andthe S&P 500.
The S&P 500 market was up by 0.5 percent on November 5, after having dropped down to -0.67 percent on November 4, according to Business Insider.
O’Leary said the Democrats are “going to have to take a spatula to these policies and bring it back to the center over the next four years and in a way reset.”
The economy, and inflation in particular, was an extremely important topic to voters this election, and polls repeatedly found that people tended to have more faith in Trump than in Kamala Harris to tackle the issue.

O’Leary is a Canadian-Irish entrepreneur who has appeared on the NBC reality show Shark Tank as an investor since it began in 2009. He earned the tongue-in-cheek nickname “Mr. Wonderful” for his blunt persona and tough negotiating stance on the show, leading some to label him the “meanest” shark.
During the 2024 election campaign, O’Leary has been outspoken about his support for Trump, appearing on Fox News on multiple occasions to back his economic plans and oppose Harris’.
His views stand in contrast with those of his fellow shark Mark Cuban, who became a campaign surrogate for Harris, appearing at rallies and interviews, and frequently defending her policies on X, formerly Twitter, leading him to clash with Trump supporters on the platform, including with its owner, Elon Musk.
